38 Weeks

I am 38 weeks and 2 days today! I had my first "check" at the DRs appointment. I am more than a cm, but not quite 2 cm dilated. I am 75% effaced. This was more than I thought that I would be, but still does not mean very much! After the DR listened to his heart rate she asked me several times about his movements and made me a little nervous. She told me she wanted me to be monitored for 20 minutes because she was only getting 120 bpm. I went on the monitor for 20 minutes and his heart rate ranged from 109-130. The DR came back in and said she wanted me to stay on it longer to show a 50 beat acceleration and if she couldn't get that I would need to have a work up done at Winnie. As SOON as she left the room again he woke up and had great accelerations in the 160's. SO, a small scare for me, but everything is just fine! She seemed 50/50 with her thoughts of seeing me make it to the 39 week 2 day appointment. We'll just have to wait and see!!!
